Nowadays, in our world, we need to find rapidly a solution and make some sacrifices to solve many nutrition problems. Between overconsumption and under-nutrition, we need to find a solution to put all countries on an equal footing in terms of food. Moreover the food resources have started to deplete.

In Asia, insects’ consumption is rooted in culture and tradition. For example in China, insects were already consumed 3,200 years ago.

The entomophagy (it’s the human use of insects as food) in Europe dates from Antiquity with Aristote (Greek philosopher: 384-322 BC) who flaunted insects’ taste. It also appears in religious books like the Bible, the Koran or the Torah.

Even some paintings dating from Prehistory were representing it.
In some countries people eat insects. There are 7 big countries where eating insects is widespread: Brazil, Mexico, The United States, Ghana, Thailand, China and The Netherlands.

You can see that entomophagy is present in all continents and it counts around 2.5 billion followers.
